Why Diesel Motorcycles Don’t Exist

 


In the last two decades, people and institutions from all over the world have looked for an alternative fuel that could completely replace gasoline. The emissions created from gasoline are destroying the planet because it is one of the biggest contributors to global warming. We cannot continue to use gasoline to fuel our world. So far, electric cars are the only real solution that companies have embraced, but they are not being created on a mass scale like gas-guzzling cars. Only 18 million cars are on the roads in the US, which may sound like a lot of cars, but it is only 7% of all the cars on the road. But there is already a fuel that is quite popular all around the world, diesel fuel. It is one of the popular types of fuel in the world. But why don’t our vehicles use diesel and why don’t motorcycles either?

No matter what types of motorcycles you have, you should always wear clothing that is made for motorcycles. Without motorcycle protective jackets, you aren’t safe from being hurt when you get into a crash, and you hit the ground. And when you have to ride your motorcycle in the rain, if you don’t have a motorcycle rain suit, you will end up soaked at the end of your ride.


One of the biggest reasons why motorcycles don’t use diesel for fuel is the engine size required to process diesel. Diesel engines are much larger than gasoline engines, 25% larger in fact, and that size increase is not stable on a motorcycle. Diesel engine motorcycles would have to be much larger than the sizes of current motorcycles. And heavier engines mean that the total weight of the motorcycle will be heavier, so it will be harder to turn, stop, and slow down.

Another reason against non-diesel engines is there would be a significant decrease in a diesel motorcycle’s ability to hit top speeds. Since the engines are large, they require more torque, which is a major factor why a motorcycle that runs on diesel would not be able to go faster. Even if you don’t like to speed, the drop in top speed would amaze you. You wouldn’t even be able to rev your motorcycles’ engine!! Talk about a lackluster performance!!


If you don’t already know, motorcycles are worse than standard cars when it comes to polluting the atmosphere. Although motorcycles produce fewer emissions on the whole, if you compare their engine sizes and their emission production, motorcycles are the worst offender. So if someone were to create a diesel engine, it would produce much more emission than other motorcycles and most other gas-powered vehicles.

These are the major reasons why a diesel-powered engine would be a terrible idea, so we must turn all of our attention to electric-powered motorcycles and hope it comes soon.

Hopeful the motorcycles of the future will be eco friendly and run completely on electricity so that the atmosphere is poisoned and the air that we breathe isn’t harmful to our bodies. Traffic Tickets: How to Overcome

 


One day, you will get a traffic ticket. It is inevitable. But if you know how to work the system and the office doesn’t care, then you may not have to pay for it. If you follow this quick and easy guide, you know what to do when the cop gives you a traffic ticket and what you can do to legally not pay it. But you should be wearing the right gear when you are riding your motorcycle, like a motorcycle protective jackets or a mens black leather biker jacket.

What to do when the officer pulls your over

There you are, driving down the road or the freeway, listening to your new in helmet motorcycle headphones, and staying cool and comfy in your mens leather moto jacket when you see the police’s sirens in your side mirrors. Don’t panic. The world is not over. If you are on the freeway, find an off-ramp and turn into the first gas station or restaurant, so you don’t have to park on the side of the freeway, which is dangerous.

After the cop leaves, place your ticket in your pocket or your backpack and continue with your day. No matter how enraged you become or how much you believe you are in the right, do not blow your fuse and start cussing at the police. That will get you into a myriad of trouble.

Before you start cursing your existence and mentally calculating where you can get the money to pay for the ticket, there is something you should now. There are ways for you to fight your traffic ticket. Find a phone number on the ticket and schedule a court date to appear before a judge. The date must be before the ticket due date.


What to do at court

When you appear before the judge, talk to them carefully, and voice your reasons why you do not feel like you deserve it. One big reason some people don’t have to pay their traffic ticket is that the officer who wrote it does not show up in court to defend their judgment. So if they are not there, it is very likely that the judge will rule in your favor.

Another strategy to implement is to admit that the traffic ticket is honest, and you were doing what it said you were, but it is too expensive to pay. Many judges will reduce the traffic ticket cost if the person is willing to pay, but they don’t have the means too. Or they might switch the ticket fine to community service.

Now, you cant do both of these strategies at once. Pick an option and go with that one. There’s no way you can use the first argument and then rely on the second when it doesn’t work out. The judge will be suspicious and may even increase the fine for lying to the court.


What to do after the judge rules

Congrats! You won, and you don’t have to pay for your ticket. Or maybe you have to pay, but it is a smaller fine. Or the worst case, you didn’t win your case, and the judge ordered you to pay for your ticket. Luckily, there will be no extra charges for contesting. You put up a good fight, but you must pay. Many courts allow a person to pay for their tickets and fines with credit cards, cash, or checks. If you want to do money order, call ahead to see if it can be done.

Getting a ticket is not pleasant, but it isn’t the end of the world. There are ways to fight a traffic ticket if you feel like you are in the right. As long as the motorcycle community stays strong and maintains its numbers, we will always have a place on the road. That is if we can keep the community going. Studies have shown that Millennials are not buying motorcycles as much as older generations. They’re uninterested, they can’t afford the upkeep, and they need more space than a motorcycle can give them. So how do we motorcycle and community and motorcycle manufacturers make themselves more appealing to the generation that is now turning 30?

Here are a few great methods to build up millennial interest in motorcycles.

Make Motorcycles More Fuel-Efficient

The average motorcycle has 4.5 gallons of gas. So if a motorcycle gets 20 miles to the gallon, it’s only able to travel 90 miles. If motorcycle manufacturers want Millennials to be more interested in motorcycles, they need to up this fuel efficiency. There are many cars now that have better efficiency and can get up to 40 miles to the gallon. The Prius mpg is over 50 miles to the gallon! What a massive difference! Not only can a Prius travel farther on a single gallon of gas, but the owner of a Prius can also save money and not need to fill up your tank so much.

Motorcycle engines may not be able to get up to 50 miles to the gallon, but they may be able to reach 25 miles or 30. Fuel efficiency will Spark the interests of millennials, especially those who are in the cities. For those who live in the crowded city, owning a vehicle that is small enough to weave through traffic and gets enough miles to the gallon that they don’t have to spend their money and fill up their gas tank every few days will be appealing.

When you compare the accident fatality rates of motorcycles versus vehicles, the rider of a motorcycle is at least 5to 6 times more likely to die from a crash than the driver of a car. Motorcycles need their safety improved, or else any millennial interest in motorcycles will be short-lived without a rise in purchases. One way to increase safety is to add AI to motorcycles. This is happening all over the world for cars, and now there are self-driving cars available to purchase. These cars are much safer and will prevent fatal accidents from happening. Creating a self-driving motorcycle will prevent lane-splitting and stop near-fatal misses when turning from left lanes. How to Make an All-Purpose Kit for Your Motorcycle

The moment you purchase your brand new motorcycle, you need to do two things. You need to get insurance for it, and you must put together a motorcycle emergency kit so you can always be ready in case you have a problem. You would be surprised at how many people don't have a kit with them in their backpack or a storage compartment on the motorcycle. That's like going out on a rainy day and not wearing your motorcycle rain suit. You never know when your motorcycle could break down. It may happen even though you take meticulously good care of it. So here's how to make an emergency or all-purpose kit.

Here are some of the most important tools that you need. If you feel like you need a wider variety of tools, go ahead and go include them in your kit. This list is just some of the basic tools that you need.

  • Wire cutters
  • Zip ties
  • A clutch cable
  • A multitool - If you don't have a multitool in all of your kits, no matter what the kit is for, you're wasting a great resource.

  • A collapsible cup - these small items can catch any leaking oil, so it doesn't spill onto the ground

  • Some cash - you never know when you may need to call someone or use the restroom, and the cashier does not let you until you buy something.

There are only a few items in this kit, but they will come in handy when you need them, and you never know when you will need them, so do not remove them. If you need some of these items in your home, then just buy two and keep one in your house and one in your emergency kit.

But having tools is not enough. Those of us who own motorcycles must also wear protective clothing. Protective clothing is made to lessen the impact of a collision on our soft human skin and flesh. Testing Your Motorcycle Headlight: What to Do

 


At least once a year, you must test the various parts of your motorcycle to make sure everything is in tip-top shape. If you do not have time or the energy to undergo this task, you can always hire a trusted mechanic who will perform a thorough checkup on your motorcycle. Or you can always check each part one by one. Today we'll be going over how to test your motorcycle headlight.

When you're done checking your motorcycle, and you return to the road, let everyone know you mean business by wearing your best outfit! Be sure to combine a leather bike vest with biker vest patches, so everyone knows you are not a casual rider.

Although you will notice if your motorcycle headlight doesn't work, you need to test out a headlight that is not attached to any motorcycle. So if you purchase a headlight, but the packaging looks damaged, or you dropped the headlight, then you'll be able to make sure it works.

Testing your motorcycle's headlight is quite easy. There are a few components you'll need, and you probably already have them.

You just need some double conductive wires to test your headlight and a motorcycle battery to provide the electricity.



What to Do?

On the headlight, there are two wires that you need to identify. These wires are attached to the motorcycle so it can be controlled. The wires necessary to test the headlight are the negative battery terminal wire and the positive battery terminal wire.

These wires are a part of the motorcycle battery, and you must connect each one to each wire from the headlight.

The wire that is attached to the negative battery terminal needs to be attached to the ground wire on the headlight.

And the wire connected to the positive battery terminal needs to be attached to the high beam or low beam wire.

If you're having trouble connecting the battery to the headlight, there are many videos online that can help you. Be sure to look for the term testing motorcycle headlight because you may be directed to car headlights if you don't include the word motorcycle.

Problems and Solutions

When the headlight is properly connected to the motorcycle battery, ask yourself these questions:

 

·         Does the headlight not work when attached to your motorcycle, only to the independent battery? Or

·         The headlight doesn't work for either the battery or the motorcycle?

If it worked only when it attached to the battery, then it has an issue with the headlight wiring harness. But if the headlights don't work while connected to the motorcycle or the battery, then it is a faulty headlight, and you should not install it.

Testing motorcycle parts are a pain, but you don't want to wait until the return policy comes to an end, and now you're stuck with faulty motorcycle parts.

Just like you need to test the parts of your motorcycle to keep them in good shape, you should check your motorcycle gear's durability. Testing Your Motorcycle Turn Signals: A How-To Guide


The turn signals on your motorcycles should always be in top working condition. Many bad drivers opt not to use their turn signal when they turn, and other people suffer the consequences when they crash into them. But you're not a bad driver, and you will ensure that your turn signals are always in top working condition. How to Test Your Turn Signal

Whether you purchased new turn signals for your motorcycle from a retailer or you repurposed them from an older motorcycle that no longer works, you should always test out any new equipment that did not come attached to your motorcycle. Testing new turn signals are easy and quick. All you need is the new turn signals and a motorcycle battery.

Also, as a precaution, you should wear thick gloves, in case you accidentally touch the battery while it is attached to a wire. It is not enough to electrocute and kill you, but it will be very unpleasant.

The first step to do is to take your turn signal and your battery outside and place it on the cement floor. By hooking up the signal to the battery, you can see if it works or does not.


Place the turn signal on the ground if you have to and separate the wires by pulling them apart. Do this slowly so that the rubber does not rip or tear. Then, you must attach each wire to a battery terminal. One wire will go on the positive terminal, and another wire will go on the negative terminal. Be sure to test both signal lights because one could work fine, and the other could be broken inside. If the turn signal lights up, then it works just fine, and you can install them onto your motorcycle. But if the turn signal does not light up, then it means that it was not constructed correctly, and it will not work.

When you install the turn signals on to your motorcycle, it's time for the second testing. Turn on your motorcycle and check the lights to see that they work. If your turn signal lights worked when it was connected to the battery but not when it's connected to your motorcycle, then your motorcycle has a wiring issue.

If you attach your turn signals to both your battery and your motorcycle and they do not work in both cases, then the turn signals are no good, and you must return them.

When you purchase a turn signal, look for ones that reviewers say are easy to see in the rain. Rain muddles our vision and makes roads and freeways more dangerous. How to Handle U-Turns ona Motorcycle?

 


Many drivers have issues making proper u-turns. Some drivers swing too wide and are in danger of hitting the other car they next to them, while are other drivers swing too narrowly and end up hitting the street divider. It is a problem for many people on the road. And motorcyclists are not immune to u-turns issues. Just because they have a smaller vehicle does not mean they are in less danger. This is why I have created a quick and easy guide on safely performing a tight U-turn, so you don't end up flipping your motorcycle over.


Performing u-turns when you don't know how to do them properly is bad, but serious weather can also turn an unsafe situation into a disastrous one. Keep yourself safe by wearing motorcycle rain gear. Or if you just need your lower half cover, you can wear rain pants with side zippers.

First, you must find an empty parking lot where you can practice. If you cannot find one during the day, then head to a nearby grocery store parking lot around nine at night. Most stores are closed by then, and the parking lot will be empty. Try to find an area where there are no parking blocks. You can then make u-turns over and over again without hitting anything.

Now you can begin the process of making a U-turn. Drive in a straight line as if you are coming up to a red light with a U-turn sign displayed on it. Slow down to a stop and then turn your right or left turn blinker on.

Now, look both ways as if there are cars on either side of you driving down the street. Just because you're in a vehicle doesn't mean other drivers will be able to see you. Unfortunately, all cars have massive blind spots, so you need to practice looking out for other vehicles on the road who may not be able to see you so you can avoid their movements. Extend your neck as far to the left and the right as you can without straining. If you can find that you cannot touch your chin to your shoulder when turning your head, you may need to take a few yoga classes to increase your stretching.

Now, pretend that the light turned from red to green and begin to make your u-turn. Grip your handles well and begin to build up speed. You should also be wearing leather motorcycle gloves so you can maintain a good grip on your bike. Remember to build up speed as you make for a u-turn. Whatever direction your bike turns to make this imaginary U-turn, your body should remain as vertical as possible. As your bike leans into the U-turn, your body and head must stand straight up.

Once you completed most of the U-turn and your bike is now completely 180 to whatever position it was first at, pretend to build up speed and meet traffic speed.


Even though U-turns are quite simple, they're difficult to do because you have to make such a tight u-turn without letting your bike fall over. If you find out when you return, your bike leans over farther than you're comfortable with, you aren't keeping your body vertical and allowing it to lean with the motorcycle. If you do this, you are in danger of your motorcycle falling over and onto the ground.

If your main problem with making u-turns is that you are too close to the curb, do not look at the church when performing a U-turn. You need to keep your eyes on where you are planning to drive your motorcycle.

Practicing your u-turns will improve your skills and protect you and yourself from accidents. But whenever you drive a motorcycle, you should always be wearing the proper gear in case you do get into an accident.
