Motorcycle Riding Formations: Why They Are Important

Riding in a formation with tens to hundreds of other bikers is the dream of many boys, girls, and exhausted office workers. Imagine sitting on a loud and heavy motorcycle while going 60 miles an hour with your very own family like a tight-knit motorcycle gang. It's nothing but you, your makeshift family, and the open road. And if all of you are wearing the same American eagle jackets mens, well, that makes the experience even better.

When a large group of motorcycles travels together, they can't just choose any lane or area they feel like. To avoid collisions with other people in the group, they must be in a planned formation. Motorcycle groups that are better coordinated and have more concern for the riders' safety will be in a formation every time they set out.

If you have ever seen an old-school motorcycle gang, a type of game that is only populated by male riders with massive handlebar mustaches and Harley Davidson motorcycles, you can see that they do not ride in a formation. This is a dangerous way to ride in a motorcycle group or gang.

So if you want to one day have a motorcycle group of your own, you must learn to implement riding formations so motorcyclists won't collide with each other. Plus, it will look badass as hell, as long as you wear a men's leather moto jacket while you do it.

Now that you know your group must ride in formation, you must decide which formation. Learn Do’s and Don’ts for Group Motorcycle Riding.

If this is your first time creating information, then the best one to go with is military formation. It is one of the basic riding formations, and it is quite easy to do. Depending on how long your formation line is, your group will need either one formation captain or one captain at the front and one or two in the middle or two sections.

The positions of these riding captains are to give signals to everyone else in the group, and everyone can see them. The military formation is a staggered one, and all motorcycles have to be at least 2 seconds of stopping time away from each other.

Although it is a straight line, it is more like two lines of motorcyclists centered around an invisible straight line. All of the motorcyclists should be able to see at least one of the riding captains to see their instructions.

Before taking your next big road trip with your motorcycle group, practice implementing this formation on a nearby empty road or freeway. And make sure everyone has their motorcycle racing pants on in case you want to have a little fun after everyone completes their practice.

No one wishes to be the nerd of the group, but instructing everyone to ride in a formation keeps everyone at a safe distance from each other. A formation prevents motorcycle accidents and keeps everybody’s organs off the road and in their bodies. But there is one thing that everyone must do before riding in a formation, and that is selecting well-made, high-quality motorcycle gear to protect you from the elements and the asphalt.

I know that no one likes to spend money, but motorcycle gear is necessary if you enjoy having all four of your limbs. Why You Need To Wear Motorcycle Gear?

When you get your first motorcycle, there are a few things you need to do:

  1. You need to obtain your motorcycle driving license.
  2. You must check over your motorcycle to make sure there's air in the tires, if the blinkers work, and if there's any damage if you bought it second hand.
  3. See how much gas is in your motorcycle and if you need more.
  4. You need to know where you're going. (But this is optional)

However, there is a step before the first step that many people completely forget. You need to wear the proper motorcycle clothing and not just basic streetwear that everyone else wears.

You may think it is odd, but many people are out there on motorcycles on the road right now who are wearing flip-flops and small jean shorts. Those who wear basic streetwear while riding on a motorcycle are very foolish and should never be imitated. If you are truly serious about motorcycle safety, you must be clothed head to toe in proper motorcycle gear.

Do you know Motorcycle leather pants are the safest alternative for bikers?

Those who do not take the time to properly research motorcycle gear consider the helmet to be the only piece of equipment they need on their body. So, you will see irresponsible motorcycle drivers in flip-flops and spaghetti strap camisoles while wearing a helmet.

Wearing regular clothes is extremely dangerous when you drive on your motorcycle, even if you are only driving through the streets at 20 to 40 miles per hour. It is so dangerous; surprisingly, it's not illegal. It is the equivalent of a car or truck driver not having a front windshield on their vehicle.

If a person is not wearing proper motorcycle gear when they are in an accident, their injuries will be harsher, and they will suffer worse wounds. This goes double if they skid across the asphalt, as street clothes can't withstand grinding against the rough road.

So what clothes do I need to wear?

They are four pieces of clothing that all motorcycle owners must wear: gloves, pants, a jacket, and boots. There's also an option to forgo pants and a jacket and wearing an entire suit. Wearing a pair of motorcycle riding gloves will protect your hands from friction as you grip your handlebars to control your vehicle's speed. Also, the weather is a major issue when you are a motorcycle owner. So, a motorcycle rain suit is a great way to stay dry and protect your internal organs. If you're not big on suits, consider wearing rain pants with side zippers to keep your bottom half dry and secure all of the items in your pocket. Lastly, a men's leather moto jacket will protect your upper body with its protective build and padding.

Do I need to wear my motorcycle gear all the time?

Yes. Every time you sit on your motorcycle and start the ignition, you should have on all of your motorcycle gear. It doesn't matter if you are just going around the block to the liquor store to grab a bag of chips. Most vehicle or motorcycle accidents happen when a person is driving around their home or their work.

So where should I go to buy motorcycle gear? Also, I don't want to spend a lot of money.

You can visit many websites to find motorcycle clothing, but many of these sites are overpriced. However, if you go to wickedstock.com, you will always get a good deal along with great customer service and fast shipping times. So not only will you save on all of your new motorcycle clothing, the money can go directly into your motorcycle's tank as a fresh gallon of gas. 3 Ways to Protect You and Your Motorcycle

Owning a motorcycle can allow you to experience a new side of life. You can spend all day in your car fighting traffic on the freeway and sitting down at work listening to your boss and their overzealous demands while dodging your gossipy coworkers. But when you interact with your motorcycle, it's like you enter into a new world where none of that matters. The moment you sit on your motorcycle and turn on the engine, you will feel that the whole world is out there for you to discover it. You can go anywhere, and all that you need is a toothbrush, some gas in your motorcycle, and some great tunes. But if you are not smart, all of these wonderful fantasies and feelings can end in the blink of an eye. Your luck could change faster than taking off a pair of leather motorcycle gloves. No matter where you are, what vehicle you're using, or how long you've been on the road, it is crucial to keep your wits about you and look for signs of danger to avoid it. So here's what you must look for when you're on the street.

1. Don't Ignore Any Changes to Your Motorcycle

When you're on the road, your motorcycle will be your mode of transportation, your best friend, and your escape from the 9 to 5 life. But if you ignore any sudden changes, like noises or shaking, that were not there before because you want to get to your next destination, you could end up ruining your motorcycle altogether. No matter how much you want to get to your next destination or how much, you don't want to spend money, always stop and check on your motorcycle if you notice something is different or wrong. It could be a problem that, if caught in time, costs you less than $100 to fix. But waiting too long could end up costing you $500 or more to repair your bike.

2. Don't Leave Your Motorcycle in a Place Where You Would Not Leave Your Pet

If you are in a small town or just arrived at a massive Walmart, finding a parking spot is no big deal. But if you're searching for a place to park in the middle of downtown Quebec or Chicago, you might as well park at your hotel and take the bus. Finding a parking spot accessible and free is one of the most challenging things in a medium or big city. So do not leave your bike in a sketchy area. Pay for parking if you have to, but don't park behind a building or underneath a ramp because you will never see your motorcycle again.

3. Beware Of Road Rage - Yours and Someone Else's

If ignoring any motorcycle issues is the first thing you should watch out for, then the second thing we should wear also pertains to yourself. Many drivers of both motorcycles and vehicles make the mistake of giving into road rage. Rage can make a person do terrible and foolish things that they would never do if they were thinking clearly. When you sit on your motorcycle, leave your ego behind, and don't try to engage anyone. It doesn't matter if you're on the road next to someone who is angry and wearing an American eagle men's jacket. Any person who is next to a road rager would feel their wrath. It is not personal at all. If you have to, drive off the freeway and get back on a few minutes later to calm down or two get away from someone who is taking out their road rage on you. You'll be much happier, peaceful, and safer if you do. Do you still think riding a Motorcycle is More Dangerous than Driving a Car?

These are just some of the dangerous things you need to watch out for while riding on your motorcycle. But another danger you must watch out for is the danger of not being properly protected while you're moving at 70 miles an hour. Whether it's men's leather biker pants or motorcycle riding jackets, you need to wear something that protects you. What can you get high-quality motorcycle gear at a great price? How to Prevent Motorcycle Theft?

Motorcycles have a plethora of advantages compared to cars, especially when it comes to space and parking, but cars are the better bet when it comes to safety and anti-theft. Unfortunately, it is simple for someone to steal a motorcycle from a person's home or just off the street. However, there are few things a motorcycle owner can do to make it more difficult for a person to steal their bike.

Park in a Safe Area

An empty parking lot down an alleyway may seem like a sweet fine, especially in a crowded city, but think again. If you park your motorcycle in a shady, suspicious area, the chances of it being stolen grow exponentially. Parking a motorcycle in a place where no one can see it makes it easier for thieves to boost it, especially if no one from the street can see them. Choose your next parking spot wisely and, no matter how much of a rush you are in, don't park it in an area that you don't trust.

Also, if you are in a big city, look for other motorcycles to park next to. One lone motorcycle out on the street might be a target, but not 3 or 4 motorcycles in one or two parking spaces. Someone will be watching, and it will be much less likely that a single bike is stolen, let alone three or four.

 Use A GPS Device

If you want to embrace the power of technology to prevent your motorcycle from Bingo depart by thieves, then attach a GPS device somewhere on your bike. It will not prevent it from being stolen, but once you discover that your bike is gone, you can quickly run over to the police and show them your GPS tracking signal. They'll be able to find the person who took your motorcycle at a much faster speed than if you did not have a GPS device. If you are not good with tech, but you still want to use this option, then watch a couple of YouTube tutorials on GPS devices on motorcycles and be sure to purchase long-lasting batteries. Be sure not to place it anywhere where it can get damaged from the rain. And if it is raining, you should also wear a motorcycle rain suit or waterproof motorcycle pants.  Safety First

All in all, be sure to use good judgment whenever you park your motorcycle somewhere. And take any precautions that you can, even if that means king the money to do so. Yes, free parking behind a building looks like the easy way, especially when most parking in big cities is $10 to $20. But you'll be kicking yourself when you round the corner and see your motorcycle is gone. So don't try to save money or time by parking in a sketchy area. One quick and easy way to find safe parking is to park across the street at the gas station or grocery store and cross the street to your destination. Your bike will be surrounded by people who have no interest in motorcycles and just want to do their daily chores. This technique is one great way to park for free but just be ready for the foot traffic.

But before you even get on your motorcycle, you need to wear the right type of clothing that keeps your body safe from the elements and in the event of a crash. Don't be caught wearing little flip flops and small shorts while speeding 70 down the freeway. You need to wear a thick motorcycle riding jacket and a well-made leather biker vest. But where can you find all of these clothes and for an amazing price? Go to www.Wickedstock.com to find everything you need and more!
