Motorcycle Locks For Maximum Security

Safety first, people always say. When it comes to a helmet, and gear, you may be fully covered -like wearing leather motorcycle pants, motorcycle riding jackets, and motorcycle rain gear to make the riding of your vehicle safer. But what if the locks of the motorcycle itself? Motorcycles are expensive, heavy, and have the potential to be stolen. That is why quality matters over quantity and getting a good lock.

Different Types of Locks

However, many people will tell you to use one method, whether it be a fork lock, a disk lock, or maybe even a chain. They are all good ideas to keep the smaller thieves, and criminals of opportunity at bay. But some go well beyond the norm, and they are the ones you need to prepare for. But here is a tip, keep those locks and chains off the ground. This reduces the amount of leverage it. You can further hinder or prevent a thief's attempt by adding a Killswitch or alarm. Both would be quite clever. After all, a motorcycle is valuable.

Add a spanner to a thief's plan by getting yourself an ABUS Granit DetectoXPlus 8077. Made of very special hardened steel, it is user-friendly, so no worries about installation. Furthermore, any tampering will trigger the sensor and let out a major racket. The lock even reminds you of certain sounds to lock your motorcycle, and if it is dark, no worries! The key has a built-in light allowing you to see in the dark - which may occur quite frequently as a motorcyclist.

For an additional lock, you can always go for a HelmetLokGenII 4- digit lock. It prevents you from having to lug around all your heavy gear in fear of getting stolen. This lock allows you to secure your gear at the bike itself. Although it may not be bolt-cutter proof (however in all fairness, few locks are). It certainly can prevent multiple crimes of opportunity that are a direct threat to your motorcycle and your equipment.

Another lock that may just suit your fancy is the Gorilla Automotive 9000-2R Motorcycle Alarm with Two Transmitters. It is a power lock, having three powerful sensors that can trigger a siren alarm, and remote control to lock and unlock it. To install it takes a mere half an hour, making life easy, simple, safe, and quick when it comes to the security of your motorcycle.

You can consider the OnGuard 8019L Mastiff Quad Chain Lock used for A bit more of an old-school approach. Made of hardened reinforced steel, breaking this lock will be incredibly difficult, as it is built and designed in an overkill mode. The more security, the better one could say.

Or you could go for Superman's weakness, the Kryptonite NY Fahgettaboudit. Sounds close to telling thieves forget-about-it, Which is a beef-sized chain used to lock up your motorcycle. With a high-security disk lock and asymmetrical chain, no one will be accessing your motorcycle anytime soon.

Apart from security, if you are interested in adding leather biker vests or waterproof motorcycle pants (to protect you from the rain), why don't you head over to Wicked Stock today? After all, you want to make sure you are fully equipped to safely riding a motorcycle while enjoying it at the same time!

3 Ways to Protect You and Your Motorcycle

Owning a motorcycle can allow you to experience a new side of life. You can spend all day in your car fighting traffic on the freeway and sitting down at work listening to your boss and their overzealous demands while dodging your gossipy coworkers. But when you interact with your motorcycle, it's like you enter into a new world where none of that matters. The moment you sit on your motorcycle and turn on the engine, you will feel that the whole world is out there for you to discover it. You can go anywhere, and all that you need is a toothbrush, some gas in your motorcycle, and some great tunes. But if you are not smart, all of these wonderful fantasies and feelings can end in the blink of an eye. Your luck could change faster than taking off a pair of leather motorcycle gloves. No matter where you are, what vehicle you're using, or how long you've been on the road, it is crucial to keep your wits about you and look for signs of danger to avoid it. So here's what you must look for when you're on the street.

1. Don't Ignore Any Changes to Your Motorcycle

When you're on the road, your motorcycle will be your mode of transportation, your best friend, and your escape from the 9 to 5 life. But if you ignore any sudden changes, like noises or shaking, that were not there before because you want to get to your next destination, you could end up ruining your motorcycle altogether. No matter how much you want to get to your next destination or how much, you don't want to spend money, always stop and check on your motorcycle if you notice something is different or wrong. It could be a problem that, if caught in time, costs you less than $100 to fix. But waiting too long could end up costing you $500 or more to repair your bike.

2. Don't Leave Your Motorcycle in a Place Where You Would Not Leave Your Pet

If you are in a small town or just arrived at a massive Walmart, finding a parking spot is no big deal. But if you're searching for a place to park in the middle of downtown Quebec or Chicago, you might as well park at your hotel and take the bus. Finding a parking spot accessible and free is one of the most challenging things in a medium or big city. So do not leave your bike in a sketchy area. Pay for parking if you have to, but don't park behind a building or underneath a ramp because you will never see your motorcycle again.

3. Beware Of Road Rage - Yours and Someone Else's

If ignoring any motorcycle issues is the first thing you should watch out for, then the second thing we should wear also pertains to yourself. Many drivers of both motorcycles and vehicles make the mistake of giving into road rage. Rage can make a person do terrible and foolish things that they would never do if they were thinking clearly. When you sit on your motorcycle, leave your ego behind, and don't try to engage anyone. It doesn't matter if you're on the road next to someone who is angry and wearing an American eagle men's jacket. Any person who is next to a road rager would feel their wrath. It is not personal at all. If you have to, drive off the freeway and get back on a few minutes later to calm down or two get away from someone who is taking out their road rage on you. You'll be much happier, peaceful, and safer if you do. Do you still think riding a Motorcycle is More Dangerous than Driving a Car?

These are just some of the dangerous things you need to watch out for while riding on your motorcycle. But another danger you must watch out for is the danger of not being properly protected while you're moving at 70 miles an hour. Whether it's men's leather biker pants or motorcycle riding jackets, you need to wear something that protects you. What can you get high-quality motorcycle gear at a great price? Wind: A Danger to Riders Who are Unprepared

Rain and snow are not the only elements that motorcycle riders have to battle against. Strong winds can be a nuisance to those who are driving on freeways and roads that have no buildings or structures on either side. So what should a motorcycle rider do if they suddenly caught in the middle of strong winds? We have written a quick guide for you to follow in case you're ever in this situation.

One of the most stylish clothing pieces to wear while driving on the open road is a motorcycle riding jackets. The flair and uniqueness that the jacket can add to your overall look will improve your style immensely.

Road Curves

One way that wind makes riding a motorcycle so dangerous is affecting how you tilt on road curves. When a motorcyclist has to turn on road curves, they tilt their bodies and their bikes away from the direction of the turn. However, if there is a strong gust of wind blowing in the direction of the turn, they could lose control and tilt too far, causing the rider to crash. If there is a gust of wind coming from the opposite direction, they may feel unstable and not tilt enough. Not tilting enough will cause them to drive across lanes and put themselves and others in danger.

When controlling your bike and its speed, you need to wear a good pair of motorcycle riding gloves. Gloves created for riding will keep your hands warm, and the material will provide you with more tractions and grip so you can easily hold onto your handlebars and have better control of your speed.

Flying Objects

Another danger you must watch out for when you are riding your motorcycle in windy weather is flying objects. The wind picks up all kinds of different things from the ground, including leaves and trash. Wind also brings about more bugs, and there can even be small showers throughout the day.

When you notice that there is more flying debris in the air, you must not keep your eyes locked on the front of the road. You have to constantly be aware of your surroundings in case a piece of trash tries to fly into your helmet and blind you. It could also be many items scattered on the road that make driving more dangerous, such as logs, ropes, and water.

If you drive in windy weather that has come directly after a storm, then there may be more showers and rain today. So until you see completely clear skies, you should wear a motorcycle rain suit, which will protect your clothing underneath the suit so you can stay dry and warm. If you don't want to wear an entire suit, you can wear waterproof motorcycle pants, because there's nothing worse than wearing wet underwear!

Practice When You Can!

The only way to mentally prepare yourself for the obstacles you will face when driving in windy weather is to practice. However, this is more difficult than you would think. Windy weather is less common than foggy or rainy weather, so it is nearly impossible to know when wind without rain or snow will appear in your area. But when the day finally comes and there's a strong breeze in your area, you have to quickly take advantage of the opportunity.

No matter how you handle the winds, every motorcycle riding must wear the proper gear to be safe in the event of an accident and look good while riding throughout the city or the countryside. If you don't have the right motorcycle riding gear or what you currently own is quite old, go to www.wickedstock.com to find everything you need. There's no excuse not to have the gear or clothing that is vital to your health and well-being!
