Miles and Miles a Year

There are many different types of motorcycle riders. Some motorcyclists ride their motorcycles as a hobby so they don’t do it very often. They only ride the motorcycle on occasion like on a sunny weekend or when they need to unwind from a hard week at work.

Then other motorcyclists have both a car and a motorcycle. They will drive their vehicle to work so that they can fit in with the white-collar crowd. Or maybe they have children that they need to transport and they definitely can’t fit them on the back of their motorcycle and in their motorcycle backpack.

Then there is another group of motorcyclists so dedicated to their motorcycle, that they will not even look at a vehicle. These motorcyclists are right to die and they will ride their motorcycles in any weather.

motorcycle-riding

Well, all of these motorcyclists need insurance. But motorcycle insurance does not work like a car, SUV, or truck insurance. Insurance companies insure motorcycle riders based on the number of miles they provide a year. So if you want to add extra miles to your experience check out these Top 5 Motorcycle Rides In The U.S.

So a motorcycle insurance company will need to know how much a motorcyclist rides their motorcycle a year. Then, based on that number, they will place that motorcyclist in a category with the other motorcycle riders who ride the same amount of miles per year. With large insurance companies, it’s all about averages. So if you are a motorcycle rider who rides as much as most other motorcycle riders, then you will get the average price of insurance. But if you are one of the outliers who rides their motorcycle every day and in all types of weather, then expect the cost of your motorcycle insurance to shoot up drastically.

riding a motorcycle

So, before you look for insurance for the first time or if you plan to switch, try to do some online shopping. Price around different packages based on your needs and how many miles you drive per year.

Every motorcycle rider needs insurance. You do not want to be stuck with the bill of both your wrecked motorcycle and the cost of the damaged vehicle if you get into a collision. Plus, many states have laws saying that all riders and drivers must have the mentor bare minimum insurance. If you do not have insurance, the other person’s insurance company will likely be able to take advantage of you and take you to court.

But before you shop online for health insurance for the next few hours, you need to evaluate the motorcycle clothing gear that you have. Get all of the motorcycle clothing gear that you have purchased over the years and please sit on your couch or bed. Then, inspect every single piece of clothing. You need to be on the lookout for sitting fabric, tears, stains, holes and patches, and general ruggedness.

Every motorcycle rider needs leather motorcycle gloves, a leather motorcycle jacket, and motorcycle racing pants.

Don’t forget to have a motorcycle rain suit on hand so you can quickly rush home in a storm and change into your suit.

We understand that you do not want to shop for new motorcycle gear because you’re currently pricing motorcycle insurance online and it is not looking good for your wallet. But there is a website that always has amazing deals on very high-quality motorcycle gear and that website is Wickedstock.com.

The wicked stock has all kinds of different gear, so anyone can’t find motorcycle gear that fits their tastes. They always have sales so all of the customers can have an opportunity to save even more money when they shop at Wicked Stock.

If you’re looking for a certain jacket that fits your style, head over to their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter page. You can see how their customers are incorporating their new motorcycle gear into their fashion.

Protect Yourself From The Heat With An Amazing Leather Jacket

The scorching sun is kind to no one. It will burn everything its ray’s touch. The scorching Heat Wave is almost inescapable. Some people flee their homes and head over to malls, libraries, eateries, and anywhere else they can think of so that they don't have to strain their home's personal AC. But some people, like women who just gave birth and animal lovers, do not have this option. They will have to stay home and brave the heat and put their faith in their apartments or homes' air conditioning units.

Drivers rely completely on the air conditioners in their vehicles to keep them comfortable and cool. But for a motorcyclist, there is no reprieve from the heat. It surrounds them, coats them and sweat, and if they're not careful damages their skin for years to come.

Not having protection from the elements may be the biggest downside of being a motorcyclist.

But motorcyclists have places to go, and they don't want to buy a car just to avoid several days of terrible summer heat. However, one thing they can do is invest in a leather jacket to Win The Race In Summer.

Wait, hang on! You may think that I'm crazy to suggest wearing a leather jacket during the Heatwave.

It's almost like I want motorcyclists to fall over from dehydration on the freeway!

But I don’t want motorcyclists to dehydrate underneath a layer of leather. Wearing a leather motorcycle jacket orleather motorcycle gloves can protect a motorcycle from the sun’s rays.

But I am not talking about just any motorcycle jacket. I'm suggesting to anyone reading this to invest in a great mesh motorcycle jacket.

A mesh motorcycle jacket is great because they look stylish and will protect you from the heat. The mesh fabric is quite breathable, and you won’t end up soaked in sweat on a hot day.

When you shop for a mesh jacket, purchase one with a liner. Whenever it gets dirty, all you have to do is wash the liner and allow it to dry.

A great mesh motorcycle protective jacket will have extra padding around the shoulders and on the elbows. You always need to ensure that any job that you purchased has extra padding in these areas as it will protect you when you fall off your bike.

Along with leather jackets, you should always buy high-quality gear which will protect you from both the elements and danger. You would be surprised at how a good reliable leather jacket can protect your skin and keep you from developing horrible abrasions that take weeks to heal.

With the right jacket, it'll be the jacket, and not your skin, which is the victim of the hot rugged asphalt.

No matter what season it is, investing in high-quality quality motorcycle gear is not an option. I've seen too many motorcyclists who wear a T-shirt and jeans and flip-flops while cruising down the highway. It's almost like they're asking for death to come to visit them soon.

But perhaps you're like me, a true avid motorcyclist who lives paycheck to paycheck. You want to buy good gear but many of the stores that sell motorcycle gear around you are far too expensive. I completely understand!

Because of my tight budget, I always buy my motorcycle gear at WickedStock.com. all of the motorcycle gear that they sell is inexpensive and there's always a sale going on.

No matter how tight your budget is, you will find motorcycle gear that will not require you to sacrifice. Head over to their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see all of the new items they receive monthly.

If You Are Thinking About Learning To Ride A Motorcycle, Read This!

Every year, tens of thousands of people purchase a motorcycle for the very first time. How many of these first-time motorcycle owners go on and develop a deep love for their motorcycle. They embrace the motorcycle riding lifestyle with all of their heart and they can’t wait until they slide their motorcycle riding gloves.

They will ride their motorcycle until the day the DMV or their doctor tells them they can no longer ride and they have to switch two cars or arrange alternative transportation.

But those who do not develop a love of motorcycling will sell their motorcycle in less than two years. They may have spent years fantasizing about owning a motorcycle. Maybe they even rented a motorcycle to try it out every once in a while or they borrowed their friends.

But once they officially purchase their own and have to ride it several times a week, they realize that the motorcycle lifestyle is not all it's cracked up to be.

This article is for those who are currently on the fence. If you have been wondering about purchasing a motorcycle, read this article before you head over to the dealer or take an old motorcycle off of your friend's hands.

It will help you decide if you really want to pursue this kind of lifestyle.

If you don’t like risk or danger, then stick with cars.

Riding a motorcycle is more dangerous than driving a car. That is just a fact. Motorcycle riders are more than three times more likely to develop an injury if they're in an accident.

The only protection a motorcycle rider has is the clothes that they wear. Since clothing is the only protection a motorcyclist has, owning high-quality protective leather gear is important.

And a motorcycle rider can't have just a single piece of gear. They need a full outfit like men's leather biker pants, leather motorcycle jacket, and motorcycle gloves. Plus, they have to wear a helmet.

You may not be able to fix your motorcycle until you take a class.

Most people grow up learning about cars from their parents, relatives, or from some cool guys in middle and high school. Unless one of these cool guys has a motorcycle, you will only learn about cars.

Transferring your car fixing skills over to your new motorcycle is not all that hard, but it will take some time.

You may not be able to use your motorcycle in the event of an accident. Even if the accident is not that severe, it can incapacitate the motorcycle if it happens in the right area.

Depending on the intensity of the vehicular accident, some people are able to continue driving their vehicle after the incident occurred. But if you get into a motorcycle accident, it is likely that you will not be able to ride it home. Make sure to have AAA services or an alternative automobile membership. You will want to install uber onto your phone as well.

If any of the reasons can you pause, then take a little more time deciding if you actually want to ride a motorcycle. It is definitely a lifestyle change. If you do decide you want to ride a motorcycle, you need to purchase motorcycle gear before you purchase your motorcycle. You don't want to drive it off the lot without any protection!

So Where Can You Buy High-Quality Gear?

One of the best places on the internet to go shop for high-quality motorcycle gear is Wickedstock.com. This website always has a sale going on and you can see all of the amazing outfits that people create with articles of clothing from the website on their Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram page.

When You Should Ride And When You Shouldn’t?

Just because you hear the call of the road doesn’t mean you have to jump on your bike and forget about your life for the next 10 days. It may be better to skip some joyrides and trips, especially if you don’t have the time, money, or anyone else who can be your travel partner. As motorcyclists, we understand riding is not always safe and we have to weigh the pros and cons of our possible future routes against a multitude of factors. Some factors are in our favor and others we should stay away from at all costs.

So when is it a good idea to ride and when should you stay at home?

RIDE!

When you are familiar with the area and the season

We recommend traveling to places you have been before. Going somewhere you are used to may not sound like the best adventure, but it is better than not leaving at all. When you want to leave in a hurry and get to your destination, you can navigate to the place as if you were there yesterday. No getting lost or asking for directions. Just pack and ride.

When time is not a factor

If you are going on a long vacation and you have plenty of time to spare for detours and getting lost, then it is an ideal time to ride. You should take your jackets and rain gear with you when riding. You might be thinking Why Should You Wear a Leather Motorcycle Jacket? Well, your motorcycle protective jackets will keep you warm in the cold, your motorcycle rain gear will protect you from getting hypothermia, and it will be easy for you to backtrack if you get lost.

STAY HOME!

If there is a natural disaster waiting to happen

When we say natural disaster, we do not mean a tsunami or an earthquake. No one, not even the best equipment, can predict when they are going to happen. To us, natural disasters that we can avoid are hurricanes, tropical storms, wildfires, and landslides. If there are extensive warnings about any of these disasters, then find another way around or turn around and go back home.

If you don’t have anyone to go with you

Many motorcyclists go by themselves, but it is always better to travel in a group. If you can wait for a buddy or two to join you instead of leaving on your own. Going alone may get you there faster, but no one will help you if you are in danger and everything will be more expensive. Plus, traveling in a group means you will make more memories!

But before you leave anywhere, check all of your motorcycle riding gear and make sure everything is in tip-top shape. The worst thing a motorcyclist can do is rely on their shoddy worn-out gear to keep them safe. When the time comes, replacing your gear with pristine brand new gear is essential to motorcycle safety. If you do not have the money to replace your gear, you should not go on vacation. Don’t travel with a brown leather motorcycle jacketwith holes.  If you see your leather motorcycle glovescoming apart at the seams, cancel your motel booking and replace your gloves.

If you have the gear to replace but don’t know where to buy new gear that will not break your budget, then open a new tab and search for Wickedstock.com. Wicked Stock has hundreds of interesting and stylish motorcycle gear pieces. No matter your style, Wicked Stock will have clothes that match your signature outfit. Check out their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to see all of their clothes and how you can use their gear to create an amazing outfit that will make everyone’s head turn!

Items Every Motorcycle Rider Needs In Their Emergency Kit

Who doesn’t enjoy a spontaneous weekend road trip where all you have between yourself, and the night sky is a sleeping bag and a sturdy tent? Most motorcycle riders plan a weekend trip every couple of months because it is so easy to merge onto the freeway and drive away from their weekday 9-5. All you must do to get away for a few days is slip on your leather motorcycle jacket, buy yourself a fresh packet of biker vest patches, and hit the road.

Well, it’s almost that easy. There are still a few essential items you need to acquire before you go out. These items are a part of your travel emergency kit, and they are an absolute necessity. You might not need them, but it is better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

Emergency kit Items

Add more items if you wish, but these emergency kit items are essential and should not be left out. You can find these items in most medical supply stores. If you buy an emergency kit, make sure all these items are included. These are also great items to give another person if you have extras. Wrap an item or two below in a brand-new pair of leather motorcycle pants and give them both as a gift!

●       Soap - rest stops cannot be trusted

●       A bottle of water - can flush out wounds with gravel and dirt as well as hydrate you

●       Antibacterial ointment - don’t let an infection ruin your trip!

●       Bandages and dressings - for cuts big and small

●       A tourniquet - if you are bleeding profusely, a tourniquet will prevent you from losing too much blood.

●       A wound dressing that stops bleeding - some dressings have coagulant chemicals that stop bleeding faster than your normal bodily system

●       Flashlight and tweezers - a splinter between your fingers won’t kill you, but you will welcome death after every sharp movement you experience

●       Sunscreen - the sun is no one’s friend!

●       A compact bag that keeps water and dirt out

●       A large freezer-grade Ziploc bag

Some of these items are small enough so that they fit in the pocket of your motorcycle rain suit. It is important to have all these items with you, especially when you are camping instead of renting motels and hotels. If you can think of any other important items, please let us know and we will happily expand our list!

After you have all these items packed away in your emergency medical kit, then you can finally hit the road! Before you ride, do not forget that Reckless Motorcycle Riding Is Irresponsible either you have prepared your emergency kit or not.

Oh, wait! Sorry, I forget to mention one little thing. Is all your motorcycle gear prepared and ready to go? Has any of your gear worn out or has patches missing? If you have a few pieces of gear that are past the point of no return, then it is time to go shopping for brand new motorcycle gear!

Owning high-quality motorcycle gear is essential. You shouldn’t even be out on the road unless you are dressed in gear from head to toe. I understand that buying gear is not a fun activity for cash-strapped motorcycle riders but knowing where to shop can help you discover great deals on high-quality gear.

One of the best places to shop for motorcycle gear is Wickestock.com. This online motorcycle gear store has everything you need to ride your motorcycle safely, and you will look good doing it too. Check out their, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to see all their gear and learn about any upcoming sales.

Should I Take an Energy Drink During a Motorcycle Ride?

Driving while tired is something that everybody does, no matter if they have a motorcycle or a car or a truck. We all know that driving while we are tired makes us more likely to get into an accident, but it is just unrealistic to expect every single driver on the road to be their most awake and alert self.

Thank goodness there are many legal substances that we can drink to help keep us awake and attentive, especially on long overnight drives.

That is why thousands and thousands of fast-food stops and gas stations across the country serve energy drinks and coffee to millions of drivers on the road.

Some people prefer coffee, and some people prefer energy drinks. But even though they both have caffeine, coffee and energy drinks may not affect the person consuming them in the same way.

Test out energy drinks close to home

First, the best thing to do is to drink an energy drink and go for a small motorcycle ride when you have the time. This will allow you to test out your reaction speed and how well your body handles an energy drink while you are riding on your motorcycle.

Some people may find that energy drinks give them hot flashes or cause them to become much more hyper than if they were to drink coffee. You don't want to find this out while you are on a 400-mile road trip.

It's best to find out how energy drinks affect you while you are safe and only a few miles away from your house. Some people can drink an energy drink, and their body will process it like a coffee cup, while others will get hot flashes, dizziness, and anxiety as if they drank a bucket of caffeine. In that case, you ought to know the basics about Motorcycling and Violence: Unraveling the Myth.

Test out different types of energy drinks

Second, you should experiment with drinking different types of energy drinks. There's not just a Red Bull or Monster out there anymore. There are now organic energy drinks and kombucha-based energy drinks, and even energy drinks with probiotics.

Some energy drinks are specially made for people with high blood pressure.

But if you find that energy drinks just don't work with your body, then stick to green tea or a mild but fresh coffee. If you don't like the taste of regular coffee, switching to a blonde roast may be preferable, as it has a lighter flavor.

Plus, nothing smells better than the smell of a leather motorcycle jacket paired with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. It's like the two were made for each other.

But motorcycles and energy drinks can go together just as well. Just imagine it now wrapping your leather motorcycle gloves hand wrapping around a delicious ice-cold energy drink on a hot day.

Along with an energy drink, a pair of textile motorcycle pants will keep you warm when the temperature drops below 50, and you have to keep driving for a hundred or more miles. In such conditions, it may be best to take your rain pants with side zippers.

Besides energy drinks, every motorcycle rider should have well-made motorcycle gear on their body to protect them from the harsh realities of the road.

Where can you buy high-quality motorcycle gear at affordable prices?

You'll save so much money you can spend the rest of the money on energy drinks! But be sure to only have two a day or two in 16 hours. When you wake up, drink an energy drink. Then, 8 hours later, drink another!

By the time entire the last 8 hours have passed, the energy drink will be out of your system, and you can get a good night's rest.

Check out all the latest fashions available on Wickedstock.com on their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook page whenever there is a sale, They will announce it on their Instagram. So you'll save even more money!

A Few Loose Guidelines for a Motorcycle Tour

Going on tour and exploring the world is one of the most exciting activities a rider can do when they own a motorcycle.  Many office workers, doctors, garbage workers, cashiers, and managers who work in their store’s dusty backroom have all fantasized at least one time in their life about taking a great motorcycle road trip. But for those of us who own a motorcycle, their fantasies are our realities.

Road trips are an integral part of motorcycle life. Many riders are excited to plan their first trip and they usually start planning the day they purchase their first motorcycle. When planning their first motorcycle road trip, every rider needs to know a few basic guidelines. Following these points will make any road trip safer, more fun, and will enable you to travel farther. You might be interested to know about the Top 5 Perfect Motorcycle Vacations before you plan your road trip.

1.      Create a road trip guide, but don’t follow it exactly

Creating a guide for your road trip is a good way to plan out your trip, schedule food and rest stops, and keep you on schedule to reach your next destination. The guide you create for your road trip should have rest stop locations, eatery locations, several small detours, and alternate routes to get to your next destination if your main road is closed. But once you make the schedule, remember that you do not have to follow the guide to the T.  It is okay to get off the main road and see the sights. Owning a motorcycle is all about adventures, and you can't have an adventure when you have to follow a strict schedule. Well maybe you can, but it won't be as fun as letting loose and seeing where the road takes you.

2.      If going out drinking, leave your motorcycle at home

During a road trip, there is a special stop where you and your buddies can go drinking and stay out until 4 AM. Usually, this happens around the halfway point when everyone is tired from riding all day. Drinking stops are especially common if the riders have been traveling for over a week. Before you all gather together at your motel and decide where to go drinking, everyone should know that they are not going to bring their motorcycle. Drunk driving is no joke and getting a DUI is even less funny. Nothing will ruin a trip faster than getting a DUI. So, install the Uber app and add in your info, or hail a taxi and have them drive you and your drunk friends back home. But whatever you do, don't take off on your motorcycle when you've had 6 tequila shots.

3.      Don’t ignore oil dripping from the bottom of your bike.

Nobody likes spending money that they did not plan on spending when they are on a trip. They dislike it even more if they have to spend that money on maintenance for their vehicle. But ignoring dripping fluid coming from the bottom of your motorcycle could have disastrous consequences. Also, investigate any new noises that appear suddenly. It may be nothing. But it also could be something that destroys the motorcycle engine and causes you to crash when you're going 80 miles down the freeway.

4.      Buy high-quality gear for bodily protection in the event of accidents

Before even thinking of planning a motorcycle tour, every new rider should have the gear they need to protect themselves when out riding on a motorcycle. If you're not sure what type of motorcycle gear to buy, there are four pieces of gear that every motorcycle rider should have hanging in their closet.  These pieces are a leather motorcycle jacket, motorcycle riding gloves, leather motorcycle pants, and a motorcycle rain suit.

Owning these two items will protect you from the most dangerous situations when you're out on the road. and all of these items should be purchased from an actual motorcycle shop. Do not try to look for this gear at Target or Walmart.

If you don't have any of this gear mentioned above or the gear you have is getting old, then it's time for you to go shopping at Wickedstock.com. A motorcycle gear shop for over 15 years, this website has all the latest high-quality fashion that won't break your bank.

So, head over to Wickedstock.com or their Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages to see what item would look best on you!
